What are the Global Distribution Systems? The four GDS, Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo and Worldspan are simply automated systems that travel agents and online travel portals use to make instantly confirmed bookings for flight, car rental and hotel rooms. How do I mange my GDS distribution? Managing your rates and inventory is as easy as manging and third party extranet. You can simply log on to our Central Reservations System (CRS) website and adjust all rates, room inventories, stay restrictions, descriptive information and policies from any computer with internet access. Can any type of property be listed on the GDS? Yes, any accommodation provider large or small can be listed on the GDS'. We have clients ranging from 1000 rooms to less than ten rooms. The only requirement is that the property has an address and and internet connection. How long does it take to be listed? Normally, it takes 3 to 4 weeks from start to finish. What type of fees are involved? A one-time system set up fee, a monthly support fee, and transaction fees comprising of a percentage of each booking value and a set amount GDS booking fee apply. I heard that GDS is only effective for big inner city hotels, is that true? GDS distribution is certainly vital for hotels offering a corporate product, however, we have many regional clients that benefit from being listed too. We have clients operating small motels hundreds of kilometers from the nearest main city that benefit from being listed.
